I worked on this project before and during COVID as a Camera Assistant, Safety diver. Amazing ship, top tier crew and the exploration potential was limitless, in reality it was tough to balance the needs of the ship, science, submarine exploration and natural history film-making.

The shoots were long and living and working with 65 people onboard was intense, I feel like there were some ethically questionable intrusions on wildlife during the filming of this series.

Working on the series made me question how we make films and how we respect the environment and our filming subjects while making them. This inquiry is ongoing for me.

Still, exciting and groundbreaking TV that will no doubt bring an appreciation of the wonders of the ocean to humans around the world.
